Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 3, 2026
Rock Harbor Digital (“we,” “us,” or “our”) builds websites and manages local search presence for small businesses. This policy describes what information we gather when you use rockharbordigital.com, call us, text us, or hire us, and what we do with it.
1. Information We Collect
Personal information. When you fill out our contact form, call, email, or become a customer, you give us details that identify you: your name, your mobile or business phone number, your email address, your company name, your mailing or business address where relevant, and whatever you tell us about the project you have in mind. If you hire us, we also hold the records that come with the work, such as quotes, invoices, and correspondence.
Non-personal information. Our website host and analytics tooling record ordinary technical details when a page loads: browser type, device type, operating system, approximate region, the page you arrived from, and which pages you viewed. On its own this information does not identify you, and we use it in aggregate to see how the site is performing.
Customer communication. We keep the substance of our conversations with you, including form submissions, emails, voicemails, and text message threads, along with a record of whether you consented to receive text messages and when that consent was given. Consent records are retained so we can show that any message we sent was one you asked for.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use what you give us to:
- Answer your question and prepare a quote or proposal.
- Schedule calls, meetings, and the work itself, and to keep you posted while a project is underway.
- Deliver, host, maintain, and support the website or local search work you hired us to do.
- Send invoices and collect payment.
- Send text messages, but only to a number whose owner checked the consent box and only about the inquiry or the work in progress.
- Keep our own records straight, meet our tax and legal obligations, and improve how the site and our service work.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not place you on a promotional mailing or texting list because you contacted us.
3. SMS Messaging and Compliance
Opt-in and consent. The only way to join our text messaging program is to check the consent box on the contact form at rockharbordigital.com/contact/ before submitting it. That box ships unchecked, and checking it is your affirmative agreement to receive text messages from Rock Harbor Digital at the number you entered. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase: the form submits with the box unchecked, and you can buy anything we sell without ever agreeing to a text. Leave it unchecked and we will reply by email or phone instead.
Opt-out instructions. Reply STOP to any message from us and you are unsubscribed. You will get one final message confirming that you have been removed, and after that we will not text you again unless you opt in a second time. You can also ask us to stop by emailing josh@rockharbordigital.com or calling 724-686-4750.
Message frequency and content. Message frequency varies. We text in reply to something you sent us and as a project needs it, so how many messages you get depends entirely on the conversation. These are transactional and customer care messages: replies to your questions, scheduling, project updates, and follow-up on work in progress. We do not send marketing blasts or recurring campaigns.
Help and support. Reply HELP to any message for help. You can also reach a person at josh@rockharbordigital.com or 724-686-4750.
Carrier information. Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier may bill you for sending or receiving them under the terms of your plan. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. The full program disclosure, including supported carriers, is in our SMS Terms.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The three situations below are the only ones in which your information leaves our hands at all, and each of them excludes your text messaging opt-in data.
Service providers. We rely on a small number of vendors to run the business, such as website and form hosting, email, and accounting software. They receive only what they need to perform that function and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party under this heading, with the single exception of the SMS aggregator that transmits our messages, which needs your number in order to deliver a message you asked for and may not use it for anything else.
Legal compliance. We may disclose information if a law, subpoena, court order, or government request requires it, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, our safety, or the safety of others. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties for marketing or any commercial purpose under this heading, and are disclosed only where a legal obligation genuinely compels it.
Business transfers. If this business is sold, merged, or reorganized, customer records may pass to the new owner as part of the transaction, and that owner would remain bound by this policy or give you notice of any change. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not sold or shared with third parties as a marketing asset in such a transaction, and SMS consent does not transfer to any unrelated party's messaging program.
In every case, the SMS aggregator that delivers our messages is the only third party that ever touches text messaging opt-in data, and it does so solely to deliver the messages you consented to receive.
5. Data Security
We keep your information on reputable hosted services, limit access to the people who need it to do the work, and use encrypted connections for the website and our email. No method of transmitting or storing data online is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we do not keep information longer than we have a reason to and we do not store payment card numbers ourselves.
6. Cookies and Tracking
This website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly and to measure traffic in aggregate. We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, for this measurement; Google's own privacy policy governs how Google handles that data. These do not identify you by name. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings; the site will still work if you do, though some conveniences may not. We do not use cookies to link your browsing to your text messaging consent.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You can, at any time:
- Reply STOP to a text message to leave the messaging program.
- Ask us to stop emailing or calling you about anything other than active work.
- Ask what information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we are required to keep for tax or legal reasons.
Write to josh@rockharbordigital.com and we will handle the request. We do not charge for it and we will not treat you differently for making one.
8. Third-Party Links
Our site may link to other websites, such as a client's site or a Google Business Profile. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's property, governed by their privacy practices rather than ours. We are not responsible for what those sites collect or how they use it, and we encourage you to read their policies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this policy as the business or the law changes. The current version always lives on this page with its effective date at the top. Material changes to how we handle text messaging consent will be posted here before they take effect, and continuing to use the site or our services after a revision means you accept it.
